On account of upbeat global stocks, domestic bourses logged strong gains. Trading for the day began on a positive note on positive Asian stocks. Local stocks extended gains as the session progressed until hitting intraday high in late trade. The sensex was settled well above the psychological level of 36000 mark and Nifty 50 gained 94.35 points and settled at 10947.25. Realty sector were the major gainers and Pharma sector were the major losers of the day.
European shares edged higher on Tuesday as investors shifted from worrying about a trade war to focusing on a corporate earnings season expected to deliver solid results. Takeda Pharmaceutical Co Ltd on Tuesday said it has received U.S. approval for its $62 billion acquisition of London-listed Shire Plc, taking the Japanese firm one step closer to its goal of becoming a global top 10 drug maker.
HCL Technologies share prices advanced to 2% after the company said its board will meet on 12 July 2018, to consider a proposal for buyback of the equity shares.

Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Shipbuilding, Financial Services and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher. At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.66%.
Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Services sectors led shares higher. The PSEi Composite added 0.65%.
Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Electronic Parts/Components and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher. At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.34%.
