In early trade, a bout of volatility was seen, as local stocks regained positive zone after erasing intraday gains. Though, indices paired gains after hitting fresh intraday high and hovered in a small range with positive bias. In late trade Indices once again regained positive zone in volatile trade after sinking in negative zone. However, a divergent trend was seen as the Sensex provisionally ended with small gains while the Nifty 50 index ended with minor losses. PSU Banks were the major gainers and Realty sector were the major losers of the day.

Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Services and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher. The PSEi Composite added 0.90% to hit a new 1-month high.
Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the, Trading & Consumer Goods and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower. The Taiwan Weighted declined 0.27%.
