Domestic equity indices rose to fresh highs, with Sensex crossing the 38,000 level for the first time, driven by select bank stocks. As per Nifty perspective, the indices opened on gap up note and throughout the session traded in a range bound.

The nifty 50 gained 20.70 points and settled the day at 11470.70. Overall market breadth is positive. PSU banks and Realty sectors were the major gainers and Pharma and Media sectors were the major losers of the day.

Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the, Trading & Consumer Goods and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares lower. The Taiwan Weighted lost 0.43%.
