Benchmark indices traded bullish on the very first trading session of the week ahead of F&O expiry later on Thursday on account of short covering and buying in Meta, IT and Infrastructure stocks. Telecom shares soared after a media report said Vodafone Group is likely to finalize talks for a merger with Idea Cellular within a month. Global cues were mixed today as political uncertainty kept the global indices calm. Nifty ended the session to close at 8878.40.
Realty and IT stocks were the gainers for the day while FMCG stocks were the losers of the day.
